Abaco and its environmental, social and governance (ESG) commitment
In anticipation of drafting its first Corporate Sustainability Report in the ESG field (an acronym for Environmental, Social and Governance), ABACO S.p.A. has planned several environmental sustainability initiatives aimed at improving the local area in which it operates.

In particular, the company has decided to support a project for the planting of new trees in collaboration with the local Consorzio del Bosco Montello. The trees (mountain and field maple, small-leaved lime, European hornbeam, and common beech) will be planted by the Consortium along “La Tradotta”, an evocative cycle-pedestrian route connecting Montebelluna to Nervesa della Battaglia (TV), passing through Montello along the former route of the old railway line inaugurated for military purposes at the beginning of the last century.

“Leaving aside strictly regulatory aspects,” ABACO explains, “the rationale of sustainability is to give increasing importance to the role played by companies within society, both from an environmental and social perspective. Specifically regarding the environment, a company—through its activities—may generate both positive and negative impacts on the context, for example through atmospheric emissions. Planting trees technically corresponds to a ‘compensatory activity,’ since we reduce the CO2 produced overall. In the case of ABACO, the agreement with the Consorzio del Bosco Montello was created to act positively on the reference environment, in the awareness that what benefits the environment and the people who inhabit it is of advantage to the entire local community, as well as to its own employees and collaborators.”
